Fifteen Zeppelins raided England on Saturday, and thirteen returned, one being destroyed, and the other captured intact, with the members of the crew. As a result of the raid there were 127 casualties. Colonel Repington, in his review of the war, declares that the position is favourable to the Allies. There is heavy work by the artillery in progress on the Somme, and the French and British have improved their position. The exploits of the ( New Zealanders in the great battle are described in a message published on page 2 of this issue. Messages from 'Athens describe a state of anarchy in Greece. The King's prestige is gone, M. Venizelos holding equal power, which Constantine does not challenge. In the Dobrudja the enemy has retired to a fortified line, and Rumania is bringing up reinforcements, and has every confidence iv the position. In the Macedonian, area a great battle is in progress near Monastir, the Allies attacking the first line of defence. In Galicia General Brusiloff's armies have redoubled their efforts before Halich.
