Great volumes of water poured into the town, flooding the streets to a depth of three feet, the shops, houses,1 and shipyards. " There were many exciting: ■ scenes. Horse-drawn lorries were used as ferries. The floods are now controlled, The damage is heavy, but there are no casualties.
