STAB PICTURES, NEWTOWN.

"A Submarine Pirate," featuring Syd. Chaplin, will he the principal picture screened this evening at the Star Theatre.

THE JULIUS KNIGHT SEASON. The box plans were opened at the Bristol yesterday morning for the coming Julius Knight season, which commences at the Grand Opera House next Tuesday night, with the production of the thrilling war play "Under Fire." This war play is a vivid reproduction of deeds and events that have occurred in our own times, and gains additional strength from the complete manner in which it is staged and acted. The principals of the company enter whole-heartedly into the representation, and artists' like Julius Knight and Lizette Parkes are, stated to have added greatly to their reputation by their convincing acting. The realistic third act, which takes place in the trenches is said to be a great triumph of stagecraft: "Under Fire" has met with unqualified success wherever it has been presented. When given in Sydney some four months ago, a scene of .extraordinary excitement was witnessed; nothing approaching the enthusiasm has ever before been seen in an Australian theatre.- The company that J. C. Williamson, Ltd., has select^ ed to support the two principals is a very strong one. "Under Fire" will be staged for seven nights only.
