THE NATIONAL RESERVE

The weekly parade of the Petone unit of the National Reserve was held at the Drill Hall last evening, a marked improvement in the attendance being evident. A meeting was subsequently held •■at" which matters' affecting the efficiency of the platoon were discussed. Sergt. R. Watson (a late member of the platoon), who is leaving with the 12th Reinforcements, was given a hearty send-off. -Reference was made to late members who are either in camp or have gone on active • service. Representatives of the platoon will attend the meeting convened by the Mayor of Petone to formulate a recruiting campaign. It is hoped to secure a record attendance for next week's parade, when improvements already decided upon will be elaborated.
