COMPETITIONS AT WOODVILLE.
(BY TELEGRAPH.- -PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WOODVILLE ; This Day. The fire brigade demonstration was concluded yesterday in fine weather, before a good attendance. Results :'—Hose and and Hydrant Union (five men). — Dannevirke, 29 3-ssec, 1; Hastings, 34sec, 2; Wanganui, 34 2-ssec, 3. The Wanganui men ran off and the Carterton team was awarded third place. Hose and Hydrant (three men). —Dannevirke A, 28 3-ssec, 1; Masterton A, 28 4-ssec, 2; Napier A, 30 l-ssec, 3. Hose, Reel and Ladder (five men). — Wanganui A, 56 3-Ssec, 1; Dannevirke A, 57 l-sseo, 2; Hastings A, 58 l-ssec, 3. Aggregate for the Leipst Cup.—Dannevirke and Hastings, 45 each, a tie. Supply Company Shield.—Napier, 24. M'Millan Shield —Dannevirke, which also won Greathead's prize. Pahiatua Licensed Victuallers' Cup.—Marton A. During the demonstration Mr. D. M'Laren conducted a successful recruiting campaign with good results.
