GREYMOUTH, 24th April. The Kumara races were hold to-day in glorious weather, with a large attendance. Results :— Trial Handicap ; six furlongs.—7 Wild Bird, lj 2 Sir Hamilton, 2; 3 Mollymawk, 3. Five others started. Time, lmin 21 4-ssec. Flying Handicap; five furlongs.—4 Izdubar, 1; 1 Grattan, 2; 6 Clanmena, 3. Five others started. Time, lmin '5 4-ssec. Borough Trot; one mile.—3 Edina, 14sec, 1; 1 Counsel, 7sec, 2; 2 Letitia, 14sec, 3. Eleven others started. Time, 2min 35 3-ssec. Kumara Handicap; one mile and aquarter.—s Mulga Bill, 1; 4 Glenongly, 2; 3 Waikehua, 3. Four started. Dillma-n's Handicap; five furlongs and a-half.—l Grattan, 1; 3 Don Charl, 2; 7 Sea King, 3. Four others started. Time, lmin 15sec. Kumara Handicap Trot; one mile and a-half.—l Letitia, 1; 8 Ned Corbet, 2; 3 Miss Bye, 3. Twelve others started. Time, 4min 7sec. A protest has not yet been decided. Westbrook Welter; seven furlongs.— 2 Izdubar, 1; 4 Mollymawk, 2; 3 Sir Hamilton, 3. Four others started. Time, lmin 38sec. The totalisator investments were £4888,. as compared with £6202 for the corresponding day of last year.
