THORNDON.
Of the dozen people that assembled in the Normal School, four handed in their names as being willing to canvass the district. They were: Messrs. Maichant, Holmes, Forsyth, and Mrs. Forsyth, and were appointed a committee with power to add to their number. The meeting was presided over- by Mr. J. G. Webb, and Dr. A. K. Newman, M.P., explained the recruiting scheme.
