TASMANIAN PARLIAMENT.

Probably before these notes appear in , print move information will be to hand 'regarding the result of the Tasmanian elections. Labour in Tasmania has risen from a membership of three in a House of thirty-five in 1903 to fifteen members out of thirty in 1913. This half-member-ship gave Labour political control, but not on a satisfactory basis. Some important work was done, notably in regard to the State hydro-electric scheme, but it was suggested that work left undone caused somo secessions from the ranks, and that the party's chances of success were- not so great as in 1913.
