TROTTING MEETING

RACING AT HUTT PARK

SUCCESSFUL GATHERING.

Delightful weather and pleasant surroundings were responsible for a large attendance at the Wellington .Trotting Club's first meeting, at the Hutt Park (old racecourse) to-day. Quite 2000 people attended. The appointments at the course and all the arrangements were excellent. Special mention should be made of the convenience of the new totelisator-house, which received high praise from the public. An innovation which was most appreciated was the presence of aa orchestra in place of the usual brass band. The first race was got off promptly, and tiie results up to' the time of going to press were ai follow :—
