The district officers of the Manchester Unity of Oddfellows — Grand Master Wylie, Deputy Grand Salek, and Corresponding Secretary Godber — accompanied by' P.G.M. Bro. After the formal business, an adjournment was made to the banquet-room, where an ample supper was partaken of. Bro. Loasby, who had just come back from a meeting of the Board of Directors, gave all present an idea of the business transacted. The most important business was that of admitting n©\v members at the present time, owing to so many going to the war. It was pointed out that if a, man joined and paid a quarter's subscription, and then went to the front and became injured or killed, the Order would be responsible for all claims, and the question arose as to whether the lodges should accept members at present. The board, after considerable consideration and discussion, decided to reoommend that members be not now made. The matter was left for the B.M.C. to deal with at Easter. SHOULD NOT RUN ITS COURSE.
