KILLED IN ACTION. Col. Manders (Assistant-Director of Medical Services, New Zealand and Australian Division), who was yesterday reported killed in action, is probably Col. N. Manders, who, according to the Army List, was formerly attached to the R.A.M.C. • ... Lieut. T. H. Nisbet was born in Melbourne in 1892. Prior to joining the Expeditionary Force he -was a law student in the employ of Mr. E. J. Smith, Dunedin. Lieut. H. M. Wright was 24 years of age, and a member of the Christchurch •City Council. His father resides at Hororata, Canterbury. Lieut. H. F. E. Mackesy was a commercial traveller by occupation ih the employ of Mason, Struthers, and Co., Auckland. He -was a. married man. According to a Press Association message received from Whangarei,. Lieuti Mackesy, who was recently promoted from sergeant for meritorious services in tho field, was attached to the 11th (North Auckland) Mounted Rifles. He leaves a widow and two young children. His father is Lieut.-Col. C- E. R. Mackesy, who, together with deceased's brother, Capt. Charles Mackesy, is serving in the same regiment at the Dardanelles. Lieut. Peter M'Kay was a. member of the 7th (Southland) Mounted Regiment before enlisting. He was a son of Mr. John M'Kay, Otama, Southland, and a farmer -by occupation. DIED OF FEVER. Lieut. Vincent F. Nancarrow, who is to-day reported died of enteric fever, was the youngest son of- the lato Mr. Richard Nancarrow, of Christchurch, and a dentist by profession. He was educated at Christ's College, where he distinguished himself in athletics. He left as an officer of the 2nd Reinforcements. WOUNDED AND MISSING. Pte. Leslie Feldwick (Otago Infantry Battalion) is the second son of Mr. E. Feldwick, of Wilsons-road, Christchurch, and a nephew of the late Hon. 'Henry Feldwick, M.L.C., of Invercargill. He is about 25 years of age, and was born at Kaiapoi. Pte. Feldwick was a member of the staff of the Bank of New Zealand, and at the time he enlisted with the Main Expeditionary Force was in the Goro branch of the bank. When ho was in Chrißtchurch, Pte. Feldwick was a member of the Christchurch Footfall Club. A younger brother of Pte. Feldwick's, Pte. Ralph Feldwick, who was a member of the Canterbury Infantry Battalion, was reported killed in action in the Dardanelles operations some weeks ago. L.-Cpl. Cyril H. Ballantyne (Canterbury Battalion) is the second son bf Mr. J. Ballantyne, of the well-known firm of J. Ballantyne and Co. He is 23 years of age, was born in Christchuxch, and educated at Christ's College. "While a boy he was a chorister in the Cahtedral choir, and later in St. Luke's choir. with his father's firm. L.-Cpl. Ballantyne was a very keen Territorial, and was the first in the firm's employ to enlist for active service. Pte. George Blatherwick (Canterbury Infantry Battalion) is about 25 years of age and the son of Mr. G. H. Blatherwick, Nottingham, England. Pte. Blatherwick came out to New Zealand five years ago, and secured employment with Messrs. \V. Strange and Co., of Christchurch. He was a leading Association footballer, being a member of the Rangers Football Club, and was also a member of the Rangers Cricket ClubWOUNDED. Major C. W. E. Cribb is an officer of the Canterbury Battalion, and resided at Greymouth. Captain A. C. B. Critchley-Salmonsen was one of the Imperial, officers on loan 'to New Zealand. He is twenty-seven years of age, and his Home regiment is the Royal Munster Fusiliers. Captain C. J. S. W. Paddon was born in England, and resided at Waipukurau, Hawkes Bay. He was on the Canadian Reserve of officers. Captain V. G. Jervis is twenty-one years of age, and a son of Mr. L. G. Jervis, North-East Valley, Dunedin. Prior to joining the Expeditionary Force he was a cadet at the Royal Military College, Duntroon. ' Lieutenant Ai N. Oakey was born at Lyttelton in 1888. He was employed before enlistment as a clerk in the Defence Department. Lieut. C. i\J. Cazalet was born in Moscow, in 1887. At one time he was a member of the Charterhouse Cadets. In New Zealand he was fanning at Timaru. Lieut. F. L. Hunt had seven years' Territorial service to his credit, and was a lieutenant in the Senior Cadets.' By occupation he was a law clerk at Dunedin. Lieut. R. A. R. Lawry, reported wounded for the second time, is a son of the Rev. S. Lawry, the well-known Methodist minister of Christchurch. By occupation he was a law clerk in the employ of Mr. J. A. Flesher, Christchurch. Lieut. Frederick Starnes is twentyseven years of age, and was engaged with his father in farming at Lower Moutere, Nelson. Lieut. N. R, Wilson was born in Waimate, and practised as an accountant at Timaru. Lieut. d'Auvergne S. L. Grut was born at Mangatainoka. in 1893, and worked as a lew clerk with Fullerton, Smith, Miles, and Cooke, Feilding. Lieut. A. F. L. Priest, wounded, was a farmer, and twenty-three years of age. Lieut. A. W. Duncan was born at Nagpur, India, and his parents now-re-side at Assam. He was an agricultural student at Lincoln College, and a nephew of Messrs. George and Thomas Wilson, of Wellington.
