INVESTMENT T. & A. CO.

The annual meeting of the Wellington Investment, Trustee, and Agency Company was held to-day, Mr. James M'Kerrow presiding. Among those present were Messrs. A. E. Pearce, Paul Coffey, L M. Richardson, and L. 0. H Tripp, directors, and Mr. R. M. Simpson, managing director. The Chairman remarked that 1 there was a tendency when the war first broke out for people to withdraw their money, but that soon passed over without any embarrassment to the company ; nevertheless it was thought to be quito prudent and cautious to go carefully and not to enter into any further business for a period of 'some months. However, it was not long before large sums of money were offered, and, indeed, money had to be refused. > Mr. Simpson, in seconding the adop- ■ tion of the report "and balance-sheet, spoke in similar terms. The Moratorium Act had, however, he said, stiffened things up. The report and balance-sheet wore adopted. Mr. C. J. Cook, as one of the original shareholders, complimented the directors upon the management of the company's affairs. Messrs. R., M. Simpson and Paul Coffey were re-elected directors. Messrs. D. Bucholz and J. H. G. Rowley were elected auditors. The meeting expressed its pleasure at the appointment of Mr A. E. Pearce as director in the place of the lato Mr. J. R. Blair. N A dividend of 6 per cent., plus 1 per cent, bonus, was passed. The re-elected directors and auditors returned thanks.
