MR. FLETCHER AND MR. BEAUCHAMP
to tHittrtroh. Sir,— ln your issue of Friday last, one Harold Beauchamp, in a letter says that he is more than gratified if his criticism of the board has made the members "sit up and take notice." Now, among the many mistakes he has made, and they are numerous, this is one of the greatest. The members of the board who know him are fully aware of the value of his advice, which is nil. His criticism has made no impression on them at all, and it would be most unfortunate foi 1 the welfare, progress, and development of the port if it did. The matter was only referred to because the general public, \vho_ may Mot know the solf-constituted critic, might have had a wrong impression. The letter was egotistical and childish in the extreme, and the writer of the letter was the infant not the board.— I am, etc., R. FLETCHER.
An excellent programme has been provided fof the combined schools' concert, to be held in the Town Hall on Thursday evening. The prices of admission are reasonable— one shilling, and for rei fterved ntaUs_twojihillu>ge.
