A COURT MARTIAL
General Orders issued to-day state : "A General Court-Martial was held at Zeitoun, Egypt, on the sth April, 1915, for the trial of No. 10/166 a, Cpl. John Springer, Wellington Battalion, on charges of— (1) Endeavouring to persuade persons in the New Zealand Expeditionary Force to join in a mutiny ; and (2) con duct to the prejudice of good order and military discipline. He was sehtenced as under : To undergo penal servitude for three years, and to bo discharged with ignominy from His Majesty's service."
