The. newspapers narrate that an attempt was made on tho Kaiser's life in Belgium in the beginnipg of May. , A railway bridge was blown up, and the Imperial train had just time to pull up in order to avert a catastrophe. The Germans declare that the bridge had been mined at the beginning of the > war, and that the explosion was accidental, but numerous German soldiers were arrested.
