EMBARGO ON EXPORT OF POTATOES
"NO NECESSITY FOR RESTRICTION: AT PRESENT." (It TSUQRAPH— FREBS ASSOCIATION.) CHRISTCHUROH, 24th June. A meeting of the Canterbury Executive of tho Farmers' Union, after discussing tho question of tho embargo on the export of potatoes, decided that there was no necessity for restriction »l present.
At about 7 o'clock last evening an outbreak of fire was discovered in the offices of the West-land Timber Company, Lower Hutt. The flames were promptly suppressed ; the damage done was only slight. The building is injured in th© Ocean office
