FRENCH WAR BUDGET

£2000 A MINUTE! PARIS, 24th June. The Budget Committee in the Chamber asked for a further 6,000,000,000 of francs for war expenses, making fifteen and a-half milliards. The Committee Reporter states that the expenses will soon be two milliards monthly. If they increase as at present, France will be spending two thousand sterling per miijute. [A milliard is a thousand millions. Six milliards of francs is £237,825,000.]
