ALLIES' LINE APPARENTLY IMPREGNABLE — v AMSTERDAM, 4th June. Heavy fighting conntinues along the Yser. The Germans are strenuously attempting to advance nea-r Ypres and ©ixmttde, but the Allies' line is apparently impregnable. Many have been killed and wounded on both sides, and it is impossible to remove the dead for burial. The Allies' airmen are daily bombing the German positions on tho Belgian const, and inflicting considerable damage in the enemy's immediate rear. FRENCH PROGRESS EAST OF SOUCHEZ The High Commissioner reports :—: — LONDON, 4th June, 4.50 p.m. East of Souchez, the French are progressing towards the village. .They have captitred an inn, fifty prisoners, and three quickfirers. Fresh progress h^s been mads at "the labyrinth."
