DISCOURTESY TO AMBASSADORS
(Times and Sydney Sun Services.) LONDON, 26th May. The Italian Ambassador in Berlin (Signor Bollatti) departed in the morning. His carriage drove along the back streets to the railway station. Herr yon Jagow (German Foreign Minister) visited the Embassy, but Dr. BetlimannHollweg (Imperial Chancellor) declined to receive Signor Bollatti, who was surprised at being thus prevented from carrying out the rules of international courtesy. A crowd at the railway station hissed Signor Bolatti. Anti-Italian feeling is high throughout Germany. Signor Salandra telegraphed congratulations to the Venetians on the splendid courage they displayed under their first air-bombing. Flags were hoisted on the housetops in defiance of the aerial visitor, and crowds on the piazzas sang patriotic songs while municipal bands continued cheerily playing. Five bombs were dropped, and wounded four women.
