THE RETREAT FROM PARIS
MAGNIFICENT QUALITIES OF THE ENGLISH CAUSE OF YON KLUCK'S RETIREMENT (Received May 5, 8.25 a.m.) . LONDON. 4th May. A German book published describing the retreat from Paris, declares that the French strength was due to the magnificent cpalities of tho English, who were the first to realise that war with the Germans was no game of football. It was the British advance on Yon Kluck's left, made possible by Yon Hanson's failure to keep pace with the First Army, that brought about Yon Kluck's retirement. A German aviator, who gave timely warning of the British approach, saved a critical situation and permitted an orderly retreat.
