RIFLE CLUB RESERVE CORPS

As indicated In our advertising columns, the Wellington Rifle Club members will attend the big patriotic parade on Tuesday night. They will most probably be accompanied by the Wellington Pipe Band, which has kindly offered to play them on parades. A silver badge of a neat oval shape, with crossed riSes in the centre, has been adopted by the company.

A meeting of the Wednesday Halfholiday Defence League will bo held at Messrs. George and George's premises, Cuba-street, on 'Monday eveningi at 8.15 o'clock. A sale of Indian and Oriental goods in aid of the child widows of India will be hold in the Town Hall, Lower Hutt, on Wednesday and Thursday. A debate on whether " Tho Future Progress of Society depends upon the Triumph of Social Democracy, "' which was arranged for to-night between representatives of the Victoria College Debating Club and of the Wellington branch of the Social Democratic Party, has been postponed until next Saturday night, when it will take place in the Victoria College Gymnasium. Mr. Harry Hooper, 15, Mulgrave-streefc, agent for the Golden Bay apple lands, notifies by special advertisement that ho will bo pleased to answer any enquiries, personally or by letter.
