EVENTS INSPIRE CONFIDENCE. LONDON. 21st February. A Berlin official report states that' the Russian defeat at the Masurian Lakes was severe. It is doubtful whether much reinaine of five corpe, and it is certain that 150,000 men were severed. The Russians have been cleared out of Bukowina. All this, together with the results of operations in the waters round Britain, inspires confidence.
