SUFFERING AMONG THE POOR OF AUSTRIA
INCREASING AT AN ALARMING RATE. (TIMES AND SYDNEY SUN SERVICES) LONDON. 24th December. Austrian '-eports indictilc that suffering among the poor is increasing at an alarming rate. The means of lelief is inadequate, but a meeting for the purpose of discussing the question of relief was prohibited. There is -a scarcity of money, and Austrians departing fiorn the country .ire peimitted to carry the niinimum amount. The better-off classes are suf fering, and are in stiaitened circumstances.
