(DT TELEGRAPH— PItESS ASSOCIATION) . DUNEDIN, 25th December. The junior cricket match Otago v. Canterbury commenced to-day in fine weather. The visitors made 158 in their first innings, the chief scorers being Sinclair 41, Lawrence 35, and Russell 26. For Otago, Burnside took four wickets for 39 runs, Holderness two for 38, and Hutcheson two for 45. At 5 p.,m. Otago had made 25 for one wicket — F. Haigh, not out. 10 ; extras 8. The match Otago League and Christchurch City and Suburban Association commenced to-day on an easy wicket. ChrLstchiiTch batted first, but were disposed of for 68 runs in a little over two hours, only Peters (19) and M'Qmlhvn (15) reaching double figures. For Otago. . Toirance took five wickets for 19, Bolter three for 19, and Symonds one for 23. At 5 p. m. Otago had lost four wickets for 16— Bulter 8. The Christchurch men proved \ery smart in' the field.
