PORIRUA SCHOOL
The breakup of the Porirua, School was celebrated on Thursday evening by the holding of the annual school concert in the local hall. The building was crowded and an excellent entertainment was provided by the children who had been trained by the headmaster (Mr. F. A. Mason) and his assistants (Misses Taylor and CaverhiU|. In place of the usual prize-giving each pupil was presented with a souvenir card, the prize-money haying beeh unanimously Voted by the children to the Belgian Relief Fund. The , various certificates won wefe also presented by Mr. E. \Vindley, Chairman of the School Committee. The following is the eehool honour toll for tho year :— Dtts of school i Ada Honore. Barnes for the purpose was up to auction, and Mr. P. Mttngavifl, who acted as auctioneer, was successful in inducing vigorous bidding, the l'esult being that the Relief Fund benefited by the, aum of £13.
