TRACK WORK AT ELLERSLIE (»T TEUSORAPH— PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, This Day. The weather savoured more of winter than of summer, and there was a strong wind blowing, with a little rain, for training operation at Ellerslie this morning. All work of importance was registered on the outside of the course proper, which was in good order. Banksia went five furlongs in lmin 6 3-ssec. Tact beat Prince Soult over six in lmin 18 l-ssec, the latter taking lmin 20 2-Ssec. Don Francisco was going stronger than Camulus at the end of a round in 2min 5 2-5 sec. Jack Delaval, with the assistance at intervals of Devastation and another, covered a mile and a-quarter in 2min 19sec. Arran and Delenda were together at the end of four furlongs in. 53 3-ssec. Merry Roe easily beat Castalia over six in lmin 21sec. Beldame and Tete-a-tete left six behind in lmin 19 2-ssec. Austin went a furlong further in lmin 34 2-ssec. Reputation was too good for Mullingar over a mile and a-quarter in 2min ffisec, the latter taking 2min 20sec. Bimeter beat Court-martial and Snapdragon over seven in lmin 34 l-seec. Toreador finished better than Goldfire over six in lmin j 20 3-ssec. Warstep was going nicely alongside Sinapis over a mile and aquarter in 2min 18 2-ssec. Allegation was two lengths in front of Soldier, with St. Elnm several lengths away at the end of a mile and a-quarter, covered in 2min I7sec. The latter took 2min 20sec. Football, Ringform, and Sea Pink finished together over the same distance in 2min 20sec. Marshal Macdonald. with i the assistance, at intervals, of Balboa and Campeador, went a mile and a-half I in 2min 45 3-ssec, finishing well. Soulti- : koff, Royal Irish, a.nd Jolie Fille finished jin that order, at the end of the same journey, in 2min 46 3-ssec, Royal Irish taking 2min 48 4-56 ec and Jolie Fillo 2min ) SO l-ssec. Bee was better than Iliad's Hero over five, ,from the new post, in lmin 4 l-ssec. Postillion went t the same distance, from the old post, in ; lmin 6sec. Marco, Bells, and Mountain Dew were together at the end of four in.s2Bec. Monojack covered seven comfortably in lmin 35sec. Snub and Adjutant^ were on terms at the end of five in lmin 6 3-ssec. Mahiaroa went a round in 2min 6sec. Downham beat I Sweet Corn over five, from the new post, in lmin ssec. Chortle was going easier j than Vocation over seven in lmin 32 2-5 i sec. ' Prince Merriwee went a mile and \ a-half in 2min 56 3-ssec. Wishful went I better than Desert Gold over five in lmin 9sec. King Lupin went four in 52sec, and Sauci five in lmin 10 2-seec. During the breakfast interval Goldsize covered a round in 2min 2sec. After breakfast Patronale went three furlongs jin 39$ec. Kitty Bellaii-s beat Apellon over four in 51sec. Christmas Rose, Trij poli, and Chime finished in that order , over six in lmin IQsec. ' A lot of others I worked. Kilmeny was schooled over six hurdles, fencing well. In our advertising columns to-day are particulars of the Manawatu Racing Club's Summer Meeting, to be held on Boxing Day (Saturday), Monday, and Tuesday next. On Boxing Day a special train leaves Wellington for PalImerston North at 7.10 a.m. The special leaves the course on the return at 6.5 p.m. On the 28th and 29th this train leaves the course at 5.45 p.m. On Boxing Day excursion fares are not availablel by the up New Plymouth mail train. ' Details of the train arrangements in connection with the annual meeting of the Taratahi-Carterton Rrcing Club, to' be held On the ClareVille course on Boxing Day are advertised. _ The trip up and down can be conveniently done on the same day. Recent winners in Rene, .Plunder, Lady Black, and other performers are engaged at the meeting. j There are big fields for the trotting t events, which are likely to attract a good number of followers of the light harness sport so popular in the South.
