Richardson, of the New Zealand Staff -Corps, has been appointed lieutenant-colonel m the Royal Marihes. [Major G. S. Richardson came to New Zealand originally as an artillery instructor, with the rank of master-gunner } was subsequently given commissioned rank, and joined the instructional staff, being for some time Acting-Director of Artillery. Captain Richardson later left New Zealand for a course at the Cam* berley Staff College, England, and subsequently succeeded Colonel A. W. Room as New Zealand representative on the Imperial General Staff at tTie War Office. He was present during the fighting at Antwerp.] COPPER AS CONTRABAND GREAT LOSS TO AMERICAN PRODUCERS.
