NEW BIG RIVER. (BY TELEGRAPH.— SPECIAL TO THB POST.) RjfcEFTON, 18th November. In the south-east end of No. 9 level a new reef has been intersected which has so far been cut into for 4 feet without reaching the footwall. Its full width and value will not be known until further work has been done, but the lode looks promising. The disebvery promises to be highly important as it is in the south-east section of the mine in untried ground both and underfoot. ROSS RETURN. The following telegram has been received from the mine superintendent at Ross:— "50oz 15dwt of gold from 1189 trucks." WAIHI. The following cablegram has been sent to the London office: — "No. 11 Level, Dreadnought' East : Next 98ft, 37e. Empire South, Section West : 89ft, 365. At 352 ft in Bath north crosscut have cut lode 3ft wide; 91s; course 60 degrees vertical." . MURRAY CREEK. In his report for week ending' 14th instant the mine manager states that the winze has been sunk 6ft, makihg a total depth of 91ft, width of reef in bottom of winze 2ft. Assay values taken from 76ft to 88ft down the winze average £5 per ton over a.n average width of 2ft 2in. The north drive in No. 2 level has been extended a further 9ft. The reef in the last 10ft driven, is 20in in width.
