CITY ORGAN RECITAL.
Mr. Bernard Page, city organist, gcive a very fine programme at the Town Hall on Saturday. The salient feature of the programme was' Glazounov's Prelude and Fugue in D Major. Then followed the famous " Siegfried Idyll," of Wagner (usually heard only from the orchestra) and selections from the works of Lemare, M'Dowell, Cesar Franck, and Holloway. Mr. Page again showed on Saturday that he is right in his insistence upon programmes of the character that he usually produces. He has made classical and often most difficult music popular, and has secured comparatively large, permanent, and interested audiences who have not demanded the "pretty pretty," and have never had it. The programme given on Saturday was one that could with boldness be presented equally to the most critical or the most mixed assembly.
