UNWISE TO ANTICIPATE A SHORT' AGE FOR SOME TIME. / LONDON, 50th October. The Economist, in commenting on the further increase in the price of corn in Germany, states that it is unwise to anticipate a shortage in the food supply of Germany for many months. It ib inconceivable that the Government would have plunged into a great war unless it was sure of at least a year's supplies.
