SECURES 7000 TONS OF STEAM COAL. FROM THE STEAMER EXFORD. (Received October 31. 9 a. in.) COLOMBO. 30th October. The feteamer Exford 's captain and crew were landed here, and reported that the German cruiser Emdeii took off from the steamer 7000 tone of st^am. coaj,
intimating that it was intended to sink the Exford. LThe Exford is a vessel of 4542 tons gross, owned by the Tatem Steam Navigation Company, Ltd. (W. J. Tatem, Ltd). Her port of registry is Cardiff. The Emden's maximum coal capacity is 900 tons, but she has been said to have colliers in attendance upon her or within reach.]
