SAID TO BE A GERMAN DESERTER (TIMES AND SYDNEY SUN SERVICES.; LONDON, 25th October. Berlin reports a discovery that General Leiman, the heroic defender of Liege, is a German. It is alleged that, he is identical with a private named Hermann Lehmann, who deserted from tho Germans at Metz in 1870. PETROL IS SCARCE IN BRUSSELS. LONDON, 25th October. Petrol is scarce in Brussels, and a» much as 10s per gallon is being paid for it. SHIRTS AND SADDLES FOR BRITISH TROOPS BIG ORDERS PLACED IN CANADA. OTTAWA, 26th October. The British War Office has ordered one and a half million shirts from Canada, which will keep every factory busy for several months; also fifty thousand saddles. The orders, together with equip- , meat, has greatly improved the business conditions of Canada.
