ROSS GOLDFIELDS. The mine manager of the Ross Goldfields reports as followß-on the work at the mine for the week ending Bth October: No. 6 level— Blocking has been resumed off No. 4 crosscut. No. 7 level— The west drive is now out '9oft from No. 7 plat. About midway between the west drive and the main drive to the intermediate workings a drive running north for 142 ft from No. 7 plat, has been repaired, and this will be extended in order to, test the possible continuation further west of the pay-wash now worked at the intermediate. At the intermediate level No. 1 south-west drive has advanced 30ft ; No. 2 southwest 7ft-; and No. 3 south-west 19ft. These faces are in payable wash, and are now being linked together by No. 2 wing drive, below which No. 2 shoot from the main drive has been commence/!. Two other 1 faces' are being worked in blocks 1 of the old workings.
