The Marlborough Rowing Association has decided to apply to the New Zealand Amateur Rowing Association to have the championship regatta held at Picton, and has nominated its president (Mr. G. J. Riddell) for the office of president of the Dominion Association. The opening of the Wellington Tennis Club, which took place on Saturday af' ternoon, was a very successful function. In the unavoidable absence of Dr. Young, president of the club, the opening ceremony was performed by Mr. W. Fraser, one of the vice-president*. He welcomed the visitors, and duly declared the eeason open. The players and visitors were afterwards formed into a group and photographed, and afternoon tea, was served. The condition of Leslie Willie, of Brooklyn, aged 15. who was injured in a street collision last week, continues to improve.
