Wellington citizens will wolcome the announcement that Sir Douglas Mawson, of Antarctica fame, will deliver two lectures at tho Grand Opera House on Tuesday and Wednesday, 13tn and 14th October. Sir Douglas Mawson will relate tho complete story of his terrible experience when, tho fole survivor of the Polar party, ho toiled for a. month through, the ondlesa waeto of the Whits South, miraculously escaping death on more than one occasion, and reaching his winter quarters whon ho had been almost abandoned a3 lost. The lectures will be illuminated by coloured moving fictures (specially tinted by ft new process) as well as a series of coloured view*. Tho net proceeds of Dr. Mawaon's World's lecture tour arc to be devoted to discharging the debts on the Australasian Antarcfcio Expedition. Tho box plans will be on view at tho Dresden on Friday morning.
