GERMAN NAVAL LOSSES

EFFECTIVE WORK BY RUSSIAN CRUISER. (Received September 25, 10 a.m.) PARIS, 24tb September. It is Reported that the Russian cruiser Bayan sunk a German cruiser and two German torpedo boats which were mine-laying in the Baltic. [The Bayan is an armoured cruiser of 7850 tons, completed in 1910. She is armed with two Bin, eight 6in, and twenty-six smaller guns., and has a speed of about 22 knots. She is named after another Bayan, which was captured by the Japanese, and now known as the Aso, and is almost an identical ship.j
