A CREW CHANGED
GERMANS ON AMERICAN HOSPITAL SHIP. • (Received September 10, 2 p.m.) WASHINGTON, 9th September. The American Red Cross Society's ship Red Cross, formerly the HamburgAmerican liner Hamburg, carrying a dozen hospital units, was about to sail, when she- was unexpectedly held up. ■It appears that the British Ambassador (Sir A. C. Spring-Rice) objected to her departure, 'because the majority of her crew were Germans. Later the, Red Cross was allowed to sail, her crew being made up of neutrals.
