GERMAN VESSEL UNDER ARREST. • CAPTAIN DUMBFOUNDED. (Received August 7, 9.45 a.m.) FKEMANTLE, This Day. When- the German steamer Greifswald arrived she was immediately placed under naval arrest. The captain was aware that war had broken out, and was dumbfounded at the seizure. ADELAIDE, This Day. The German steamer Scharzfels has : been" seized. The captain and officers I assisted in removing her to dock. [The Scharzfels, a steamer of 5513 tons, built in 1901 and registered at Bremen, .belongs to the German Hansa line, and, had arrived at Adelaide from New York, which she loft on 10th June. Thoj3reifswald, a vessel of 5486 tons, left Bremen on 17th June for Australian ports, and called at Antwerp and Suez. She belongs to tho Norddeutachcr Lloyd line.]
