Niobe is a first-class protected cruiser of 11,000 tons, built in 1897. Her main, armament consists of 16 six-inch gune % and four 18-inch submerged torpedo tubes. She has a speed of 20.5 knots. H.M.S. Rainbow is a second-class protected cruiser of 3600 tons, built in 1891. Her main armament consists of two sixinch guns.
