RESERVISTS LEAVE CANADA
PARTY LINES ABOLISHED. CANADA IN STATE OF COMPLETE DEFENCE. MONTREAL, 4th August. The steamer Victorian has sailed for Britain laden with Reservists. Sir Wilfrid Laurier (Leader of the Canadian Opposition) has agreed to the abolition of all party lines in Canada, and will assist Sir Robert Borden (tho Prime Minister) to help the Mother Country with every cent in Canada's Treasury. OTTAWA, 4th August. Canada is in a, state of complete defence. The batteHes have been manned and the rivers mined. The cruiser Rainbow is ready for action,, and crews ar« being secured for the cruiser Niobe. |
