LODGE MEETINGS

At the h&lf«yearly meeting of the Sacred Heart Branch, Hibernian Society, the nowly-olectod officers were installed by tho retiring president. A motion was passed protesting against the introduction of the Biblcin-Schools Referendum Bill. The Excelsior Lodge of Druids held its usual meeting at Carlton Hall, A.D. Bro. Woodlmm presiding over a. largo number of members and visitors. Tho bards reported on sick members, and sick pay and accounts to the amount of £47 18s lOd were passed for payment. The receipts for tho previous meeting were £17 6s 4d. Three now members wore proposed and three members wero initiated. A hearty vote of thanks wns accorded the visitors, coupled with the names of A.D. Bro. Abel, J.P.A. Bro. Rubinstein Pacific), D,P BrO. Edge, Bro. Kay (Timaru), and Bro. Jardine (Mel-rose) An official visit is to be paid tho Com* nation Lodge this week. Bro. G. Eraser, C.T., presided at the weekly meeting of the St»r of Wellington Lodge, 1.0. G.T., and there was a number of visitors present, including tho district executive officers. Suggestions for tho lodge's improvement were brought forward by a special committee and adopted. Bro. Humphries conveyed greetings from Auckland. A musical programme was contributed to by Sis. Miller, Fabian, and Roberts, Bros. In> gram, Ilowitt, Simpson. Wyse, tvnd Humphries. Next meeting is an open • night, in charge of the Harmony Committee.
