ATTEMPT TO DERAIL A TRAIN

Some fencing rails were removed from a paddock near by and placed across the rails at the northern end of the bridge over "Jack's Creek." , Fortunately the planks were not very substantial, otherwise there might easily have been serious results. It was nrs't thought that it was the work of children, but on examination of the locality the prints of a man's boots of about size 9 were found. Nothing of the occurrence was known til] yesterday morning, when tho broken planks were found alongside the line, one plank being found about two chains away.
