- — . ♦ — . LAVISH HOSPITALITY RETURN OF THE TUTANEKAI. (»* TELfiOIUPJf.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, This Day, The Tutanekai returned this morning from the Island cruise. At Tonga tho visitors Were entertained at a garden party at Dr. Izard'e residence, and dined at the British Residence, where King Tonga was one of tho guesfs. The people of the Island entertained the visitors with lavish hospitality. The Prime Miister of Tanga entertained a- large party on the historic battlefield near Ntikunuku,_ dinner being served in native fashion to the guests, wh6 were all sitting on mat's, dispensing with plates, forks, etc. The guests subsequently were eliterfsjtted by the New Zealanders at Nukualofa. *Th& natives gave several beautiful dances. On returning, tlie Tutanekai called at Sunday Island. It was intended to re* mov« the settlers theio to New Zealand, but as their goods 'were not ready for shipment the steamer continued her voyage. The Tutanekai will now join in th 6 search for the launch missing from the Bay of Islands, and will call for the Sunday Islanders before again returning to the Dominion. During the last few days the Tutanekai encountered very stormy weather.
