TEST CASE
HINDUS AT VANCOUVER ORDJBE FOR DEPORTATION APPLICATION FOE WRIT OF HABEAS CORPUS. (By Telegraph,— Press Association.— Copyright.) (Received June 27, 8.25 a.m.) VANCOUVER, 26th June. The Immigration Inspector has signed an order for the deportation of a Hindu, one of the passengers of the Komagata Marti. This action will supply a test case fol 1 the Courts. Application for a writ of Habeas Corpus was made, but refused by the Court, and an application will now be made io the Court of Appeal to hold a special s'tting to consider the appeal. The application for a writ of Habeas Corpus was made in order to override the deportation order. Deportation was ordered on the grounds that the Hindu, by coming indirectly here, by not having two hundred dollars in his possession, and by being a labourer, has contravened the Order-in-Council.
