MINE MANAGER'S REPORT. Waifcangi.— No. 4 level— ln- tho drive west the main reef still looks well, and carries good minerals. No. 2 rise east is completed, and a start will bo made to continue it to No. 2 level, which would open up all the levels from No. 1 to No. 4, enabling the ore_ to be passed direct to the low lo\el, caving unnecessary handling. No. 2 level— Crosscutting the reef js now going on 50ft west of No. 1 crosscut, and a* start has been made to break quartz in No. 1 crosscut, also on the hanging wall 60ft east of No. 2 crosscut is being opened out. A sample of ore taken from a width of 4ft assayed £2 11s per ton, and a picked sample £19 13s 6d. A third sample taken out from the hanging wall portion close to No. 1 crosscut assayed £2 10s 8d per ton.
