Murray beat Inslee (America), 2 up ; Apperley (Australia) beat Weaver, 3 and 2; Gordon Lockhart beat Castle, 2 and 1 j Gillies (New Zealand) beat Yeomans, 8 and 7 ; J. The weather is brilliant and the course very fast, the greens being well watered and easy. WITH SOME OF THE CRACKS. HILTON'S AND PALMER'S ROUNDS. TRAVERS'S AND^OUIMET'S PLAY. (Received May 19, 11 a.m.) LONDON, 18th May. Hereehoff (America) beat St. John, 4-3. Over a thousand spectators followed Hilton's and palmer's rounds. The latter, who is the Irish champion, is aged fifty-six years. Travers's outward Journey cost H strokes. He and his -opponent turned squai-e. Travers was 2 up at the twelfth hole, ami the pair were again square at the sixteenth hole. Travers played poor golf, and was often bunkered. A crowd also followed Ouimet, who played good, steady golf. Hie approaches vtero beautifully judged.
