IN NO-LICENSE POLLS CONVENTION OF TEMPERANCE WORKERS IN SYDNEY EARLIER CLOSING OF HOTELS. (By Telegraph.— Preas Association.— Copyright.) (Received May 19, 10.35 a.m.) .SYDNEY, This Day. Afc the annual convention of temperance workers, Mr. Clifton Wilson moved: "That the issue of no-license under State or local option polls be determined by a bare majority." He urged that Parliament should repeal the three-fifths majority, and said New Zealand people would never forgive themselves for accepting the three-fifths majority in the Liquor Bill. The conference further moved in the direction of earlier closing of hotels to prevent drunkenness, and unanimously decided not to exclude intoxicants needed for sacramental purposes.
