A SCENE

IN THE FEDERAL HOUSE FIGHT FOR BLANKETS MEMBERS COME TO BLOWS. <By Telegraph.— Press Association.-Copyright.) (Received May 14, 9.15 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. An attempt to introduce a motion for adjournment in order to discuss the tariff led to a scene in the Federal House of Representatives. Anticipating an all-night sitting, blankets were distributed on the Ministerial side, but one -was captured for a sleeping Oppositionist. A wild scrimmage for its recapture, lasting for a considerable time, followed. Two members came to blows, and had to ' be dragged apart. Others were dragged from recumbent positions on the seats or knocked over in the struggle. Order was eventually restored, the Deputy-Spuaker shouting out that he trusted honourable members would remember they were in Parliament.
