RUGBY CONTROL MEETING OF UNION. The Management Committee of the Wellington Rugby Union met last evening. Mr. E. 0. Hales was in the chair. Messrs. Hardham and W. Perry and the chairman were delegated to represent the union at a conference to be held with three representatives of the Wellington Referees' Association to see if something could be done to place the membership of the latter body on a stronger footing. The conference will be held next Monday evening. The secretary of the Berhampore Club notified that one of its members had taken part in two League games this season. It was decided to forward the player's name to the Rugby Union for disqualification. The Southland Rugby Union advi B ed that it would be represented at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union by Mr. Derbie, of their union, and by Messrs. C. G. Wilson and G. W. Woods, of Wellington, but by the powers given in rule XV (6) Mr. Derbie would, exercise the votes the union was entitled to, yet there was no reason why either Mr. Woods or Mr. Wilson could not be elected to the Management Committee, as both would be acting as Southland's delegates, and would have a voice in all discussions. The same argument applied to those unions which did not wish to be personally represented at the- annual*, conference, with the exception that they would nave no voting powers. The Southland Union considered that as the New Zealand Union paid the expenses of one delegate, that delegate should attend. Intimation was received from the New Zealand Union that Haddock, of Petone, was _ not eligible for re-instate-ment, he being over 17 years of age when he played under League rules. SENIOR FIXTURES. The following senior fixtures were arranged for Saturday, 23rd May: — _ Wellington v. Oriental, Athletic Park No. 1 j Petone v. University, Athletic Park No. 2; St. James v. Athletic, Miramar No. 1 } Poneke v. Melrose, Petone. • ' All fourth, fifth, and sixth class matches for Saturday week have been abandoned owing to a parade of Senior Cadets.
