HOTEL WORKERS

ONE CLEAR DAY OFF. ARBITRATION COURT DECISION. (BY TELEGIUPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, This Day. The Arbitration Court ruled that the Shops and Offices Act is mandatory as regards one clear day off in each week for hotel workers, and has framed a new Wellington award accordingly. The same provision will apply to the Auckland hotel award. No difference is to be made whether the hotel is large or small. The Court suggests that the extra expense can, and piobably will, be met by increased tariff or by reorganisation of the staffs.
